THE FIVE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS YOU CAN DO TO IMPROVE THE SOUND QUALITY
OF ANY MUSIC REPRODUCTION SYSTEM

1. TREAT YOUR LISTENING ROOM

This one is not even remotely debatable. Nothing—and we mean absolutely nothing—will result in a greater sonic return on your investment than a properly treated listening room. Put one of our $20,000 systems in an untreated room and you will impress all your friends for a day. Put one of our $2,000 systems in that same room with $2,000 of acoustical treatment and you will soothe your soul for the rest of your life. Put one of our $20,000 systems in that same room with $5,000 of acoustical treatment and both you and your friends will want to call in sick to work. Every single day. The wisdom has been shared. Please don't ever say we didn't warn you.

2. INVEST IN A QUALITY TURNTABLE SYSTEM

After Point #1 above, this one ranks a very close second and trumps all others. Spend all you want for the conveniences of digital, but if you want an utterly transcendent musical experience in the end, invest in a quality turntable system. Even our entry-level Rega turntables will reveal musical details and textures that cost-no-object, state-of-the-art digital platforms still can't quite unravel. The wisdom has been shared. Please don't ever say we didn't warn you.

3. PUT AT LEAST ONE VACUUM TUBE
SOMEWHERE IN THE SOUND REPRODUCTION CHAIN

The age-old debate about vacuum tubes versus transistors will likely rage on into the 22nd Century. That debate was settled long ago at EarHead Audio. If you want immersive, emotional, hypnotic music reproduction, make sure there is at least one little glass bottle somewhere in your signal chain, especially if you have a digital source component. The wisdom has been shared. Please don't ever say we didn't warn you.

4. TRUST WOMEN'S EARS... IMPLICITLY

The high-end audio industry has become, with rare exceptions, a predominantly male-only club. If you want long-term musical happiness in your home, you would do well to heed the following advice: whenever you are ready to invest in a truly high quality music reproduction system, bring along to the audition your wife, your girlfriend, your sister, your sister-in-law, your mother—anyone with a pulse and two X chromosomes. Pay a woman, if you must, to come along with you, but bring her at all costs, even if she absolutely detests music. Before you decide on a purchase, listen very carefully to what she has to say about it, because you will never obtain truly high quality music reproduction in your home until you have followed this advice. The wisdom has been shared. Please don't ever say we didn't warn you.

5. START FROM SCRATCH

If you're reading this, you're obviously not happy with what you now have. If you wish to make A LONG-TERM INVESTMENT IN YOUR WELL-BEING, without having to sell your house in the process, sell every audio component you now own (www.audiogon.com) and call us today for an appointment. You might actually end up with something much more satisfying in the long run AND—are you ready for this?—end up with actual money in your pocket. But don't believe us; believe our customers.
